Shore excursions, part 4: Athens, Istanbul, Split

The rest of the ports are:

Athens
- ?? the ship is 30 minutes from the town. We will need some type of tour or transportation to see anything.

Istanbul - there are several tours (IB01, IB33, IB34) that start in the afternoon when we get there and continue on the next day. They all run about $135.

Split - ?? tours of the town run about $50. The ship is tendered in split and it says that the "Old Town" is near the tender landing, so we could just walk around. Some of the excursions sound like fun though.

There is nothing listed for Mykonos. ??

Ned just gave me a great book on Istanbul. Of course, I have to read it and that is the rub. I think, as I said before, that taking one of the cruise excursions seems like the best bet there. I have looked at them once, but need to go back and look again.

Ned and I will have been to Split when we go on our trip in June. I would imagine I will know all about it by the time we leave there! Maybe it is a place we can just wonder around on our own.
