I found a link to a place called Virtual Tourist. It is a little difficult to navigate, but essentially is people who like to travel or live in a place posting about it. There I found this link to an article about Diocletian's Palace in Split, Coratia, which will tell you who Diocletian was. Also a walking tour here.
Although it is one of the most important monuments from the late antiquity and the best preserved Roman palace – when you arrive to Split, you won’t have to pay for the entrance to see it. That’s because it is still the center of Split, the area which is referred to as “Grad” - “The Town”.
I have also seen recommendations to go on the tours to the countryside, to Trogir, along the Dalmatian coast. All very exotic sounding. Maybe this is the place to do a ship tour!

The Virtual Tourist is rather complex to navigate. In fact, if it is late and your are tired, it is almost impossible! But I did go to the link with the walking tour and that was pretty amazing. Who is that guy? or girl? Anyway, they are very organized. It was great to see as I had absolutely no idea what was in Split.
Yes, the site was confusing. People who are on these sites first must be thinking about it when they are there and so can organize, take pictures, etc. I notice that the person with the walking tour is nicknamed "Diocletian" so maybe he is a scholar (like Joann!).
The CBs have been out carolling tonight and I had to stop off here on my way home from the other blogs. I am a little stuffed on the virtual cookies, hot chocolate and booze but here goes.
I wish you a Merry Christmas
I wish you a Merry Christmas
I wish you a Merry Christmas
And a happy New Year.
Merry Christmas KT
Merry Christmas KayT
Thought you might like a song about some other tourists.
We three kings of orient are
Bearing gifts we traverse afar
Field and fountain
Moor and mountain
Following yonder star.
Ooo-oh
Star of wonder
Star of night
Star with royal beauty bright
Westward leading
Still proceedig
Guide us to thy perfect light.
Merry Christmas,
Merry Merry Christmas
I'm out singing, a little cut off from the crowd and the songbooks but I wanted to share the joy.
Have a great holiday season, Kay T

Merry Christmas, Kay T!

May you have lots of hugs and smiles today and every day this next year!
Merry Christmas, Kay T! I knew I was forgetting someone's blog. Geez, you're hard to find. Had to go to McB's to find the link.
I think I'm all sung out. Oh, here's one that's one the radio right now:
Jingle bells, jingle bells
jingle all the way
Oh what fun it is to ride
in a one horse open sleigh
Rinse and repeat.
Hope you're having a wonderful holiday and eating too much and being gifted with all your favorite things!
