Mediterranean in 2008
I can't believe we are doing this! I found a great site with what to see in Istanbul if all you have is one day, click here.
The Wikipedia article on Istanbul (click here) is pretty interesting, and not too detailed or just touristy. One of the "must see" sights is the Blue Mosque which I borrowed a picture of.
Note: Here is another Istanbul tour site, Ekol. They also do Athens, I think.

This is a great site. It is cool that they have a list of guides if we need that. I wonder what it is like there now in terms of being "American"? I suppose ok (if we are wearing longsleeves and headscarves!!) I am actually excited about going there since is seems like it would be really different.
I think that this might be someplace we need a guide! But the cruise website had a shore excursion that was 4 hours on the first day (we arrive at 2:00) and 4 on the second. I also think that as we get more familiar with the different place we will have a better idea of the cost.
